You may know that oil spills are bad, but do you really know how bad they could be for the environment. Oil spills can be very bad for sea otter since when they come in touch with oil they're fur gets all matted and can't keep them warm in the cold water. The oil can also cause liver and kidney damage. It also can cause severe damage to the eyes and lungs. Sea otters would eat some sea urchins, but they would eat a lot. What's so bad about them eating sea urchins, well if they sea urchin got oil inside of them, it would eventually get into the sea otter body and then a killer whale would eat many sea otters. So bio magnification would happen. Say all the sea otters went extinct. What would that look like? Well if they went bye bye the kelp would probably go extinct. Why would some kelp me affected by sea otters disappearing? It would happen because sea otter eat a animal called sea urchins. If they didn't eat sea urchins, the sea urchins would destroy the kelp population. If the kelp went extinct it would change so many animals life, since so many rely on kelp.
